Mastering is the process of taking your raw mix and giving it the shine and consistency across your album or EP that you are used to hearing in big studio productions. A great master will make your music come across a variety of systems with a good balance and not sound overly muddy or thin. Some of the things that can be done are:
• Focus the bass in the center of the image.
• Give your tracks a competitive volume (loudness) without unwanted distortion
• Create a stereo image and let the vocal sit on top of the track.
Your project will sound best if you can deliver it with plenty of headroom. Please leave at least 10-12 db or RMS headroom.
